Health checks with a clear purpose.
Each pet's needs are different. Your vet will recommend assessment and treatment based on their individual circumstances.
What a health check looks at
A routine examination may cover weight, body condition, teeth, skin, joints, heart and general wellbeing, alongside any changes you've noticed.
Essential Health Check — NZ$259
An introductory package for younger, generally healthy pets. The published package includes a vet consultation and patellar examination, CBC, a quick bladder scan and a 10-panel biochemistry profile.
Standard Health Check — NZ$299
Intended for generally well adult or middle-aged pets. Published inclusions build on the Essential package with a 15-panel biochemistry profile, urinalysis and blood-pressure measurement.
Comprehensive Health Check — NZ$399
Designed for older pets or those needing broader screening. Listed tests include CBC, 17-panel biochemistry, urinalysis, blood pressure and electrolytes.
Screening isn't a diagnosis
Screening provides useful information but cannot rule out every illness. Your vet may recommend further tests or treatment if symptoms or results raise concerns.
Preparation and booking
Share your pet’s age, medicines, previous results and concerns when contacting reception. Ask for current inclusions, any fasting advice and an estimate before the visit.
Frequently asked questions
Does a normal health-check result guarantee my pet is healthy?
No screening package detects every condition. A vet will interpret results in context and explain whether further checks are recommended.
Can I add extra tests?
The veterinarian can discuss individually appropriate additional tests and their costs before proceeding.
Understand your options before deciding
Before consenting, please ask your vet about the procedure, important risks, possible additional tests and expected charges.
