Finding the cause of limping, pain or injury.
Each pet's needs are different. Your vet will recommend assessment and treatment based on their individual circumstances.
When to book an assessment
Limping, difficulty bearing weight, pain after an accident or a worsening joint problem should be assessed by a vet.
Diagnostic planning
After examination the vet may recommend radiographs or other imaging to clarify injury type, severity and any surrounding soft-tissue problem.
Treatment options
Depending on the diagnosis, options may include pain control, immobilisation, selected surgical repair, or referral to a specialist facility.
Anaesthetic and recovery considerations
If surgery is needed, the team will discuss individual risk, monitoring, recovery restrictions and repeat imaging where relevant.
When an injury is urgent
For severe trauma, intense pain, an open fracture or sudden inability to walk, call the clinic urgently so the team can advise on suitable care or referral.
Understand your options before deciding
Before consenting, please ask your vet about the procedure, important risks, possible additional tests and expected charges.
